Sorry about the state of my house

Sorry it’s a mess

When conducting surveys, owners often spend a lot of time apologising for the state of their homes. I’m sure that it’s not difficult to imagine the state of some of the places that a surveyor comes across.

I understand that the majority of home owners have pride in their homes, and I feel the same way; however; as a surveyor I understand that people actually live in their homes and so do not expect a perfectly clean home, even though most of the time I do.

The thing to bear in mind is that whatever the perceived mess your home is in; I will have seen something far worse. In addition, whatever mess I have seen, other surveyors will have seen worse than I have. In general one house or flat is much like another and I don’t keep a tally, and other DEAs are pretty much the same and whatever tales I have, plenty have already beaten me hands down.

So in conclusion, do not worry too much, about how your house appears; as it is almost certain there are far worse, (at least I hope so!)
