Estimates

Estimated energy use, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and fuel costs of this home

Following the asset ratings, is a table giving an estimated reading for the property. They are made from assumptions about the occupancy of the property.

Energy use

An estimate of the energy used, for the current and potential rating. This is based on the type of fuel used and is given in kWh/m2 (Kilowatt-hour per metre square).

Carbon dioxide emissions

The amount of Carbon Dioxide produced through the energy consumption. The type of fuel used will have a large bearing on this reading.

Lighting

Estimated on standard occupancy and the type of light bulbs used. The amount of energy consumed to light the property.

Heating

Efficiency of the heating system will be the main factor in the costing. If there is not a main heating system, this will be a high figure.

Hot water

An estimate of the amount of energy consumed to provide hot water to the home. If you only have a kettle to make hot water, assume this figure will be high.
